and now it is time to start Technique Tuesday for 2012

Over recent weeks I have been building mind muscles creating cutting files for my Cricut.  It has been very absorbing and a lot of fun creating them from scratch. It has also been oh so rewarding to see them cut and fold successfully too.

Now it is time to put the digital side of my paperarts aside as coming up is my first Technique Tuesday class on 7 February at 10.30 am. The first class for the evening participants will be 14 Febrary at 6.30 pm.

Topics to be held are:
  • Using vellum and pearl embossing powder
  • Much more with scoring boards. Please note - if you already own one bring it along and get to know it better
  • Mask-It film for stamping and colouring.  A clever tool to give you more variety from your stamps and colouring.
  • Jac paper and X-PressIt adhesive sheet.  Ways with cutting, glitter, embossing and cleaning up!
The classes will again be based on saving the ideas and techniques on tags.  You can keep them together as creative prompts for future projects. I suggest you bring along a general tool kit including scissors, craft knife, pencil, pen and non-stick craft mat if you have one.  Class tools will be available too.

For class bookings and payments please call Marisa at Create On Ormond on 03 5222 1449 or email

Bottled sunshine and time for the Marmalashes

It started as a challenge arising from the ashes of Australian cricket team losing to the Poms a summer or so ago.  If you call this summer when they have forecast snow on the alps in Victoria today. Hail and winds for other places.
A group of marmalade makers in Buninyong decided to contest the Marmalashes  ... in England. For the write up in the Guardian newspaper visit the story here.  The result was the Australian XI won, eleven jars that is.  Go here for the Marmlashes version of the story and how to participate this month.
January 2012 is now the time to submit your entries to Russell and the team so on behalf of the Marmalashes Buninyong Marmalade Association Inc., this is a call to all marmalade makers to enter the 2012 Marmalashes Selection Judging and Awards.
Just as I have fooled many when I have said it was time for me to work on my Cricut now is your time to contest the Ashes.  In this agricultural show off season raise your wooden spoon.
The competition has moved wider than Buninyong and they invite entries from all over Australia.
Yes, there is a Marmy army!
